The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires marks its centennial on July 25, 2025, celebrating 100 years of steadfast service, leadership, and commitment to Canadian communities and taking its place among a rare group of Canadian organizations to reach the remarkable milestone of a century of service to Canadians.
Commissionaires has demonstrated a longstanding dedication to security and safety through its powerful social mandate to provide meaningful employment for veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, their families and others who wish to contribute to the safety and security of Canadians. This unique mission ensures that those who have served, and their loved ones, continue to play a vital role in communities across the country.
Divisions across Canada are hosting a variety of community events to commemorate the centennial. These celebrations bring together partners, clients and Canadians in highlighting stories of leadership, integrity and service.
Locally, Commissionaires Great Lakes is honoured to collaborate with other organizations to mark this historic milestone. Highlights include hosting an event with residents of the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre and ringing the opening bell at the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Quote
“Our centennial is a great opportunity for Commissionaires to celebrate a century of quiet service to Canada and its veteran community. We’re a uniquely Canadian institution—no other country has a not-for-profit as its largest security guarding company. Looking forward, we remain committed to employing veterans, raising the bar for other operators in an ethically tenuous industry and providing safety to Canadian communities. Our centennial year is not just a celebration of the past, but an invitation to all Canadians to join us in honouring those who dedicate themselves to the safety and security of our nation.”
