Press Release
The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the Red River Métis, Métis N4 Construction Inc., and SkyAlyne are pleased to jointly announce the signing of a long-term lease agreement for office space in Kanata, Ontario.
The agreement, formally between SkyAlyne Canada Limited Partnership and Métis N4 Construction Inc., will see SkyAlyne relocate its corporate headquarters to 3000 Solandt Road, a building owned by Métis N4 Construction, Inc. This location, once renovated, will also serve as the home of the Joint Management Office (JMO) for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program.
“A cornerstone of the FAcT program is Indigenous participation, and I am very pleased to see this long-term agreement come together in support of both SkyAlyne’s corporate needs as well as our delivery of the FAcT program,” commented SkyAlyne General Manager Kevin Lemke. “Further, this is a strong business-to-business relationship, that highlights the importance of SkyAlyne supporting capacity within Indigenous communities, enabling Indigenous businesses to compete for and win contracts in the Defence sector.”
SkyAlyne was formed in 2018 as a joint venture of CAE and KF Aerospace. In 2024, SkyAlyne was awarded the contract for the FAcT program, which is a 25-year all encompassing contract for renewing and delivering ab-initio Pilot and Aircrew training to the RCAF. The FAcT program includes both Canadian Content Value and Indigenous Participation requirements, which ensures the economic development benefits of the program reach all Canadians, including Indigenous communities.
“This agreement represents a meaningful step forward in strengthening partnership between industry and the Red River Métis Government, which is an area the MMF excels in,” said Jack Park, Chairman of the Board for Métis N4 Construction. “The Red River Métis have a long history of entrepreneurship and enterprise in this country, and we are pleased to be engaged with SkyAlyne to support Canada’s future in vital areas, including defence and aerospace.”
Métis N4 Construction is a diversified Project Management Construction corporation owned by the Manitoba Métis Federation through its Economic Development Trust. Established to provide the MMF with a vehicle to pursue effective Métis participation in economic and major resources development projects, Métis N4 has successfully joint-ventured with many partners to expand its capacity in diversified industry areas, including oil, gas, transmission, infrastructure development, and various services. Métis N4 Construction is among the most successful Indigenous social development enterprises in Canada.
“I extend my appreciation to President Chartrand, and the teams at the Manitoba Métis Federation and Métis N4 Construction for their ongoing hard work with SkyAlyne in support of the FAcT program. I look forward to continuing to build on our longstanding commitments,” added Lemke.
“Métis N4 Construction’s expansion into commercial project management services has been a natural extension of our efforts to support the goals of the Red River Métis Government,” said Chairman Park. “The outcomes we’ve managed with the dedicated team at SkyAlyne are a great example of the results we can produce, creating lasting benefits for all involved. I commend SkyAlyne for their approach to this longstanding relationship and look forward to continued engagement with their team.”
The relocation efforts are expected to be complete in Spring 2026.
